Rice balls, or onigiri, are really common in bento lunches. They're easy to make, easy to incorporate different flavors, and easy to make super cute especially with fun molds.
This panda bear rice ball set is perfect for trying fancy onigiri. It comes with three molds-- a bear, flower, and heart.
The molds are small-- the bear and flower are 2,25" across at the widest part and the flower is 1.75". I really like small onigiri for kids, snacks, and to make a really varied bento box.
The really cool thing about these molds is they also have shaped punches so you can punch a shaped hole in the center so you can add a yummy filling.
My favorite thing about this set is the small rice scoop with the panda on the handle. This is to make it easy and cute to put the rice into the mold.
For really great rice balls, use Japanese sushi rice.

We used the mold set to make rice balls last night for dinner and I've never seen my 5 yr old eat so much! We love them!
